Electro-Mechanical Technician

Job Summary:

Repair various kinds of electro-mechanical equipment.

Efficiently transport a wide range of items to or from customers in a manner that meets customer requirements.

Work Performed:

  • Read job cards to determine job status, work authorizations and limitations, estimate, description of problems, and/or expected serviceability.
  • Testing electro-mechanical equipment to troubleshoot known or suspected problems using various methods (ac or dc).
  • Disassemble electro-mechanical equipment noting part identification, configuration and condition.
  • Clean electro-mechanical equipment assemblies as needed using various methods and steps, including but not limited to: parts washers/steamers.
  • Note proper replacement parts and correctly requisition needed items as approved by supervisor.
  • Replace or repair worn or defective mechanical or electro-mechanical assemblies, including but not limited to: bearings, brushes, fans, end bells, fan shields, etc.
  • Re-testing reassembled electro-mechanical equipment for proper output and operation.
  • Complete required paperwork for each job accurately and on a timely basis.
  • Operate specialized repair and testing equipment and other equipment not limited to: test panels, surge testers, high pot, tester, grinders, cranes, fork lift trucks, megger, various handheld power tools, non-power tools.
  • Observe all safety procedures and use proper protective gear.
  • Keep work area neat and clean as directed by supervisor.
  • Assist other mechanics or other shop personnel in skilled or non-skilled duties as directed by supervisor.
  • Work all hours needed to satisfy Northwest Electric, Inc. customers including nights and weekends.
  • Perform other duties assigned by supervisor.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum level of education: high school diploma.
  • Preferred: Technical school training
  • Must have a valid driver's license and good driving record.
  • Must provide a valid phone number.

Outside Sales Representative

The Sales Representative will sell and market our company’s products and services to new and existing customers within the Kearney territory.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of each of the company’s service and product offerings.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with new and existing customers in your assigned territory.
  • The ability to analyze the customer’s business needs and offering the best product or service solution.
  • Introduce new products and services to customers in assigned territory.
  • Partner with inside sales staff to follow up on assigned sales leads and quotations.
  • Gain a working knowledge of competing products and companies.
  • Gain product knowledge through catalogs, sales bulletins, sales meetings, factory schools, and company-sponsored training, personal experiences, etc.
  • Plan sales activities to meet personal and company long-term objectives by setting weekly, monthly and yearly goals.
  • Analyze sales dollars of your territory frequently, using sales summaries that are provided. Review results monthly to determine relative status and adjust sales activities accordingly.
  • Manage costs by maintaining accurate records of travel, mileage, and sales-related expenses.
  • Work with Operations to establish yearly sales budget and goals for the Kearney Territory.
  • Responsible for achieving yearly sales budget and goals for the Kearney Territory.
  • Continually work to develop sales skills to be successful in this position.
  • Use sales tools and software provided by the company to update and maintain accurate customer records and sales calls.

Qualifications

  • Minimum level of education: high school diploma and two years of collect credit or Bachelor’s degree is a plus
  • Experience in Industrial Sales
  • Knowledge/background in either the electrical or mechanical fields is preferred
  • Valid driver’s license (Required)

Finance & Administration Manager

We are looking for a confident results-driven Finance & Administration Manager to progressively lead and manage our organization's financial performance and direct our accounting, human resources, and safety operations.

Location: Columbus, Nebraska


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Manage financial and administration activities to achieve financial goals
  • Develop business plan, timeline and budget to perform financial projections
  • Monitor and manage expenditures within allotted budget
  • Develop and maintain standard financial and administrative procedures
  • Respond to customer queries/issues in a timely manner
  • Work with Leadership Team in preparation of business plan and operational budget
  • Review all invoices and make the relevant payments in a timely manner
  • Review accounting discrepancies and recommend corrective actions
  • Assist in implementing standard accounting policies
  • Ensure the preparation and maintenance of all financial records

Norfolk Branch Supervisor

Full/Part Time:

Job Summary:          

Confer regularly with the Western Region Manager regarding shop operation job scheduling, repair problems, customer concerns, employee performance,

and other matters as deemed appropriate in the absence of the Regional Manager.

Work Performed:     

  • Oversee, coordinate and prioritize all service work, including RUSH jobs, ASAP work, and routine repair in all branch service departments. Assure that daily work schedules are completed and customer’s jobs meet/exceed customer standards or Northwest standards.
  • Handle any concerns from customers, communicate those concerns to the regional manager and participate in bringing the concerns to a satisfactory resolution.
  • Assist operations team (Shop Foreman, Service Coordinator and Customer Service Representative) as needed to meet branch goals.
  • Monitor employee attendance and performance.
  • Comply with all company memos and distribute applicable information to department and/or shop personnel.
  • Assist all personnel in the understanding and administration of company rules and regulations.
  • Insure all company safety programs are implemented and followed by all employees.
  • Assist in the upkeep and repair of branch equipment and facilities.
  • Attend seminars, expositions and various schools to stay current on technical information relative to our corporate services.
  • Assist with Employee Growth & Development Plans.
  • Assist with the interviewing and hiring of new branch employees.

Qualifications:          

  • Preferred minimum level of education/experience: high school diploma, plus five years of on-the-job training in electric motor repair.  Additionally, eight to ten years of experience supervising in mechanical work environment.

  • Assist Safety Department in the monitoring of all operations in Northwest Electric, LLC.  Where appropriate, provide management with information needed to maintain a healthy and safe working environment, free from unacceptable risks.
  • Assist in providing general safety education, enforce shop compliance with safety-related equipment and protective equipment as well as monitor environmental quality concerns.
  • Stop hazardous operations where life hazard or major property damage is imminent.
  • Assist and monitor and handling of hazardous waste and waste disposal.

Work Performed:     

  • Transport and deliver goods in accordance with a schedule, including emergency, rush deliveries or pick-ups that require overtime.
  • Pull and load daily shipments-verify to paperwork.
  • Verify count and condition of transported items, reporting any damage as applicable.
  • Assist in loading and unloading freight as required.
  • Safely operate material handling equipment including but not limited to i.e. forklifts.
  • Make sure paperwork file is in its proper place.
  • Make sure to secure loads properly.
  • Assure that loads are within weight limits.
  • Operate truck in a safe manner.
  • Report any vehicle problems or defects to Supervisor immediately.
  • Maintain and schedule service and the upkeep of all vehicles.
  • Maintain vehicles in a manner that projects positive company image to customers and the general public.
  • Maintain a good driving record.
  • Work all hours needed to satisfy Northwest Electric, LLC. customers including nights and weekends.
  • Ensure good customer relations by consistently delivering orders on time and by acting in a courteous, professional manner.
  • Keep stock in warehouse put away and organized.

  • Preferred minimum level of education:  high school diploma.  Skill in safely operating different types of trucks is required.

  • Must be able to obtain a CDL license with Class B with no endorsements.
